Meet the CEO

Justin O. Cooper is an award-winning filmmaker, creative executive, and founder of JOCMedia & Entertainment, a Los Angeles–based production company and creative services agency specializing in film and television, marketing communications, and music entertainment.

With over two decades of experience, Cooper has established a reputation for combining creativity with strategy to deliver globally resonant storytelling and measurable impact. Through JOCMedia, he has supported productions for Disney, Universal Pictures, Paramount+, and collaborated internationally with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, Benetone Films (Thailand), and Abroad Films (Hungary & Bulgaria). His production support credits include projects such as Ride Along, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Dune Part One, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Aladdin, and SEAL Team (season 6).

As a filmmaker, Cooper wrote, directed, and produced the Oscar-qualified documentary CIRILO, A Legacy Untold, winner of Best Documentary Short at the San Antonio Black International Film Festival and nominee for Best Documentary at the Detroit Black Film Festival.

His creative leadership extends to the music industry, where he served as art director and lead publicist for Ann Nesby’s Billboard-charting album ANNiversary (2025) featuring the hit single “My Man” (#29 Billboard R&B Airplay), and as an ASCAP Plus Award–winning songwriter for collaborations with Grammy winners Tom Scott and Ann Nesby.

In the corporate sector, Cooper has written and produced national broadcast and digital campaigns for New York Life Insurance, blending cinematic storytelling with brand strategy to engage audiences and strengthen consumer trust. His creative leadership in marketing communications reflects JOCMedia’s core belief that great storytelling drives both culture and commerce.

Cooper holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Benedict College and certifications in Film & TV Development and Film Editing from UCLA Extension. He is a member of Film Independent and listed on the IATSE Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700) Industry Experience Roster.
